Today we are going to blog about something different. Something out of the ordinary and our normality. This post is a featured post by us because Keish & Jen does not only make upcoming companies noticed, we also make ourselves heard when we come across new unnoticed talents in the country. And let me tell you, we are one hell of a creative country Malaysia.
I love art, do you? I think that art is something really personal. Something that no one can explain. A simple dotted line may mean the world to me and mean nothing to someone else. “A dotted line Keish?” “Yes a dotted line Jen!” This is because in reality I cant draw to save my life and me living in denial with my dotted line makes me very content. =) Art is a very subjective topic and I rather leave it up to the professionals to handle it and I know just who the right person is.

Miss Joy, yes the name says it all doesn’t it. I fist met Miss Joy a week ago. When I spoke to her she sounded like a very subtle lady. I liked her tone on the phone because she was so polite and outspoken, it was an awesome conversation. I told her I was going to write about her and the talent that lies within her, she agreed and we met up. Now let me tell you, when I saw her I was absolutely shocked. She was one beautiful and funky woman. At that point I knew that creativity was not the only talent she had, this woman had it all. I totally envied her.
Miss Joy is an art teacher for many years, before she was an art teacher; she thought music as a teen. Her students varied from the age of 6 -10. Although she loved what she was doing, she knew that teaching music was not something she wanted to be doing forever; instead art was what she had always dreamed of. Fashion and interior design was one of the things that Joy was crazy about.
One of her first jobs in the art industry was art director / creative head of department at an advertising agency. “The experience here shaped me into what I have become and it had also empowered my interest in art more than ever” said Miss Joy.
Miss Joy owns her own art studio where she shares her knowledge and talents with children from the age of 5 – 17 years old. I was pretty amazed and taken up with miss Joy and especially the work that her student have done. I mean I never knew kids at that age had that much of creativity in them. I was speechless and I felt proud. Don’t ask my why proud, it was just a feeling =P
Miss Joy mentioned that the way she teaches her students is not like what you may find in many other art studios. Here, students spend almost 2 – 3 weeks on one project. Miss Joy explained to me that she would never do a new project every week because the children will not learn anything. Instead she takes a few classes so that they can perfect what they have learned. This way they get to fully understand the fundamentals of what they are about to learn.
I personally think that Miss Joy is really something special. Im heading over to her studio to experience the creativity that she shares. You guys should head down there too.
